Julia Wanjeri, Founder/Project Lead

Julia Wanjeri, the project lead at Jeri Consulting, is a journalist and communications strategist with over a decade of experience in developing and implementing actionable communications strategies across traditional and new media.

Julia has previously served in several managerial roles, including as the Managing Editor of Siri Magazine (a reproductive health magazine published by Populations Services International and based on the SIRI TV show that used to air on Citizen TV, Kenya) and as a Communications Specialist at Northern Rangelands Trust (a not-for-profit supporting community-led wildlife conservation in Kenya and Uganda).

She is also the Founding Digital Editor of the globally- recognised African women’s football platform JWsports1 and currently sits on the panel of experts that selects the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year (since 2017) and the panel of judges that selects the Guardian’s Top 100 Female Footballers of the Year (since 2018).

A print journalist by training (at heart too), Julia occasionally picks the pen as well. Her work has appeared in books, such as:
